Description
This small jug is characterised by the relief decoration on most of the body. The decorative technique is called 'barbotine/barnacle' and consists of forming rough relief projections on the surface of the vessel with added masses of fine clay, with appropriate treatment with the fingers and depending on the desired effect. This technique is particularly popular, especially in the early Middle Bronze Age, in two versions: the 'granular' and the 'shellfish', which may imitate the surface of the shells of marine organisms. The vase is dark-painted on the wide band with relief decoration, interrupted by oblique curvilinear plain bands, outlined in thin painted lines. Painted bands can be seen on the neck, the handle and the lower part of the body.
