Description
One of the seven Cycladic-type figurines handed into the Heraklion Museum together with two silver daggers as chance finds from a field in the Tekes area. Female figurines seated on stools have been found in a cemetery in the Cyclades, but it is unclear whether this example is imported or Cretan-made. Since the objects from Tekes do not come from an excavation, we do not know if they were all found together or their precise dating. However, as similar finds usually come from tombs, it is very likely that this assemblage came from a rich tomb in the Tekes area.
