Archanes palatial building. Palace of Zakros.
Description
Bell cup with disc base, low foot, straight rim and vertical strap handle. Black monochrome interior and outside of handle. The exterior is decorated with motifs of the Marine Style of the Special Palatial Tradition in black on buff slip: bands on the lower body, and scale pattern interspersed with sponge motifs higher up. It was found in the Late Minoan IB final destruction layer of the palatial building at Archanes.
