Description
Clay alabastron of the Special Palatial Tradition. This type is particularly popular in Crete in Late Minoan IB-IIIA1 and is inspired by a category of Egyptian alabaster vessels. The similarity of this type to imported Egyptian vases lies not only in its shape but also in the painted decoration meant to represent the wavy veining of the original alabaster vases.
