Description
Bronze jug with relief decoration of horizontal parallel ribs, a wavy band and drops. The arrangement of the decorative zone highlights the upper body of the vessel, stressing its curvature. The vessel would have been made of hammered sheets joined together. The lower part of the jug has been restored. It is part of an assemblage of bronze vessels from the Northwest Treasure House, an upper-class residence on the periphery of the Knossian palace, which was used during the Neopalatial period (1600-1450 BC).
