Description
This gabbro chalice is one of four cups of the same type found in the Treasury of the Shrine of the palace of Zakros. Chalices were cult vessels, also seen in the later Camp-Stool Fresco depicting banqueting scenes, which probably adorned a room on the second floor of the West Wing of the palace of Knossos.
