Description
Fragment of a large bronze stand. It is supported on rods delimiting the scenes on its four sides. The fragment preserves part of a multi-figured scene. In the central and better-preserved section is a ship with five rowers, a warrior with a shield, and a woman with upraised arms at the prow. Above this scene is a second image of a figure milking a cow, with another seated figure opposite. Under the main scene is a dog with a person bending towards it. The figures appear two-dimensional and are thought to be inspired by contemporary vase-painting. The stand may have been wheeled.
