Description
Signet ring with solid hoop and oval bezel set with a sealstone in three graduated colours (black, white and light yellow). The intaglio sealing surface depicts Hermes Agoraios, the patron of commerce, standing in profile facing right, naked save for his cloak which is wrapped around his neck and falls behind him. In his extended left hand he holds a purse full of coins, while in his right is the caduceus, propped against his shoulder.
