Description
One of two parts of a closed steatite mortar. It was used to cast spherical necklace beads by pouring molten metal into the mould. The Poros settlement was one of the largest industrial centres in Crete, as evidenced by the important excavated remains of metalworking, stone-carving, seal-cutting and jewellery-making workshops.
