Description
Serpentinite offering table with rosette-shaped legs. This is a luxury cult vessel that may have been used to make offerings, as the traces of its original gilding indicate. The lapidary workshops of the Knossian palace produced a variety of items of ceremonial or practical use, such as offering tables and lamps, as well as vessels with relief pictorial decoration, often inlaid with materials including gold, ivory or shell.
