Description
Terracotta figurine of enthroned Cybele. The goddess is an imposing figure with a long neck, wearing a polos headdress and a richly pleated floor-length chiton. She is holding a great cymbal in her left hand and a bossed bowl in her right. There is a lion at the foot of the throne. On either side of the throne is a pair of children. The pair on the left, holding a tympanum, are the Corybantes, the sons of the goddess.
