Description
Lamp with copulation scene. Copulation scenes, both heterosexual and homosexual, first appeared in vase-painting in the 2nd quarter of the 6th c. BC. Their popularity increased in the Late Archaic period (525-480 BC), when orgies also began to be depicted. Lamps generally depict scenes of daily life, in this case night-time diversions.
