Description
Miniature votive helmet model formed of two bronze sheets. Found at the altar on the hill of Praisos, with many other miniature models including helmets, cuirasses and mitrai. The offering of miniature models of armour was a common practice at Cretan sanctuaries of the Archaic period. They were dedicated by the elite hoplite class in the hope of protection in battle or as a gift to the gods following a successful outcome.
