Description
Candelabrum with tall cylindrical foot and separate circular ring to which the lamps were attached. It comes from a rural sanctuary of Demeter. This is one of the hundreds of lamp stands found in the sacred pit, attesting to night-time ceremonies at the shrine, associated with rituals in honour of the goddess.
