Sanctuary of Athena on the Acropolis
Description
Multiple ritual kernos. It consists of a tall, spool-shaped base and three successive tiers of five adjoining cups each, arranged in a circle in such a way that the upper cup is supported on the join of the two lower ones. At the top is a circular house model with a smoke-hole/chimney in the centre and an almost square doorway. On the shoulder/roof of the house are preserved parts of two handles and the beginning of a third. Each section of the vessel is decorated with painted brown-black bands.
